Before you begin, make sure your PC or Mac meets the system requirements<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you already redeemed a product key, reinstalling the apps, or you have an assigned license through work or school, you can skip ahead and go to the section sign in to download and install Microsoft 365 or Office<\/a>. However, if this is the first time<\/em> you’re installing Microsoft 365 or Office, you may have some steps to do first. Expand the Learn more<\/strong> section below for more info. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Go to\u00a0m365.cloud.microsoft\/apps<\/a>. If you’re not already signed in, select\u00a0Sign in<\/strong>, and then select the\u00a0Install apps<\/strong>\u00a0drop-down.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Sign in with the account you associated with this version of Microsoft 365. This account can be a Microsoft account, or a work or school account.\u00a0I forgot the account I use with Office<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. After signing in, follow the steps that match the type of account you signed in with.You signed in with a Microsoft account<\/strong>

      1. From the home page select\u00a0Install apps<\/strong>. (Or, you might need to select\u00a0Apps<\/strong>\u00a0from the left navigation pane, and then select\u00a0Install apps<\/strong>.)\"Screenshot<\/li>

Select\u00a0Microsoft 365 apps<\/strong>\u00a0to begin the installation.<\/li><\/ol>The 64-bit version is installed by default unless Microsoft 365\u00a0or Office detects you already have a 32-bit version of Microsoft 365\u00a0or Office (or a stand-alone app such as Project or Visio) installed. In this case, the 32-bit version of Microsoft 365\u00a0or Office will be installed instead.To change from a\u00a032-bit version to a 64-bit version<\/a>\u00a0or vice versa, you need to\u00a0uninstall<\/a>\u00a0Microsoft 365\u00a0first (including any stand-alone Microsoft 365\u00a0apps you have such as Project of Visio). Once the uninstall is complete, sign in again to\u00a0m365.cloud.microsoft\/apps<\/a>\u00a0and select Install apps. From the Install apps window select the language and version you want (64 or 32-bit), and then select\u00a0Install<\/strong>.       3. This completes the download of Microsoft 365\u00a0to your device. Depending on your browser, select\u00a0Run<\/strong>\u00a0(in Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer),\u00a0Setup<\/strong>\u00a0(in Chrome), or\u00a0Save File<\/strong>\u00a0(in Firefox).If you see the User Account Control prompt that says,\u00a0Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?<\/strong>\u00a0select\u00a0Yes<\/strong>.The install begins.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. Your install is finished when you see the phrase,\u00a0“You’re all set! Office is installed now”<\/strong>\u00a0and an animation plays to show you where to find Microsoft 365\u00a0 applications on your computer. Select\u00a0Close<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          Activate Microsoft 365 or Office 2024 on a PC<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

          1. To open an app, select the\u00a0Start<\/strong>\u00a0button (lower-left corner of your screen) and type the name of an app, like\u00a0Word<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          2. To open the app, select its icon in the search results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          3. When the app opens, accept the license agreement. Microsoft 365\u00a0or Office is activated and ready to use.Note:\u00a0<\/strong>The Activation Wizard appears if Microsoft 365\u00a0or Office has trouble activating. Complete the steps in the wizard to finish activation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
